In 2019, it became apparent that Monahan Partners needed to make a substantial investment in upgrades to their ERP system and began an exhaustive search for an alternative solution.  After evaluating a dozen vendors and spending countless hours in product demonstrations and understanding potential vendor culture and visions, Monahan Partners partnered with Acumatica, a cloud-based technology with user friendly interfaces and a customer-centric and continuous improvement culture that made a natural fit for Monahan Partners, Inc. The implementation project began in January of 2020.

John Connell Lewis Jr: Tucel Industries

John Connell Lewis Jr, 84, died on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Mertens House in Woodstock, Vermont. As the founder of Tucel Industries, he was described as one of the most innovative people in the brush industry. He invented a fusion method of brush making and was well known in the industry as he sold his environmentally-friendly brushes to brush companies across the world. He held over 20 patents and changed the way cleaning products were made. He was described as caring employer and took pride in creating jobs and crafting a positive atmosphere where his employees thrived.

ABMA Reports Passing of Susan O’Connor Erickson

The ABMA website has reported on the death of Susan M. “Sue” (O’Connor) Erickson from Lanoco Specialty Wire Products. She was 48 and passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 10, 2020.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and raised in Millbury, Sue was one of two daughters born to loving parents, Thomas and Mary Ellen (Bradley) O’Connor. She was a 1989 graduate of Holy Name High School, from which she went on to attend Springfield College, graduating in 1993 with a degree in Physical Education. Several years later, Sue received her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Clark University.

ISSA Online Course: Helping Cleaners Combat Coronavirus

In response to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) international pandemic, ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, has launched the GBAC Fundamentals Online Course. This virtual seminar from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA, is designed to empower cleaning professionals to become Microbial Warriors™. The course will train attendees to prepare for, respond to, and recover from biohazards in the workplace. Participants will learn infection and contamination control measures for infectious disease outbreak situations such as the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Individuals who successfully complete the course within 30 days of enrollment will receive a Certificate of Completion from GBAC.

March PMI Reflects Pandemic Impact

The COVID-19 pandemic looks to have snuffed out an expansion that wanted to kick off at the start of the year as the Institute for Supply Management® reported a PMI of  49.1 percent for March. Based on the overall economy, the drop from 50.1 percent in February seems relatively modest. Comments from the ISM® report and panel reflect intense concerns about the future outlook as the world economy is heading into the unknown.
