ISSA Online Course: Helping Cleaners Combat Coronavirus

In response to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) international pandemic, ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, has launched the GBAC Fundamentals Online Course. This virtual seminar from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA, is designed to empower cleaning professionals to become Microbial Warriors™. The course will train attendees to prepare for, respond to, and recover from biohazards in the workplace. Participants will learn infection and contamination control measures for infectious disease outbreak situations such as the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Individuals who successfully complete the course within 30 days of enrollment will receive a Certificate of Completion from GBAC.

62nd FEIBP Congress Moved to 2021

The FEIBP has postponed the 62nd FEIBP Congress to September 22-25, 2021, and will utilize the same location in Prague, Czech Republic.
In making the decision the FEIBP cited the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and in particular the its effect on the European brushware industry. The announcement said that the COVID-19 situation not under control and there is no way to accurately predict when the world and business might start to return to normal. With the current circumstances, brushware manufacturers and suppliers face difficult times and the key priority is to survive this period. The FEIBP also noted these specific reasons in making the postponement:

Nexstep Commercial Products: New AR Team Member

Nexstep Commercial Products, Exclusive Licensee of O-Cedar, has announced that Beth Spencer has joined the Corporate Staff in Springfield as an accounts receivable associate. Spencer recently moved to Ohio from Wisconsin to be closer to her family. She was born in the “thumb” of Michigan, but over the last six years has lived in Kentucky, North Carolina and Wisconsin. In Wisconsin, she held the billing specialist and accounting assistant position for a specialized heavy hauling trucking services company. Prior to that, she worked for a crane, rigging, and heavy haul company in North Carolina in billing and also oversaw their safety certifications and programs for the crane department.

The COVID-19 pandemic looks to have snuffed out an expansion that wanted to kick off at the start of the year as the Institute for Supply Management® reported a PMI of  49.1 percent for March. Based on the overall economy, the drop from 50.1 percent in February seems relatively modest. Comments from the ISM® report and panel reflect intense concerns about the future outlook as the world economy is heading into the unknown.
