ABMA Letter to USTR on China Tariffs

The American Brush Manufacturers Association submitted a letter to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on June 4, 2019, outlining the harmful effects of recent tariffs to US manufacturers.

The ABMA letter notes trade war makes US manufacturers less competitive and is forcing them to make difficult choices, such as:

  • Raise Prices: increasing costs for consumers
  • Cut Costs: cutting workers, worker pay or new investment
  • Mitigate Costs: shifting manufacturing overseas losing US jobs
  • Outsource: give up and buy foreign made goods
