Gordon Brush Acquires Michigan Brush and Dorden & Company

Gordon Brush Mfg. Co., Inc. announced on July 22, 2024,  that it has acquired the assets of Michigan Brush Manufacturing Company and Dorden & Company, Inc. in Detroit Michigan, and all of the Company’s manufacturing and operations will immediately be moved to Gordon Brush’s 183,000 sq. ft. facility in the City of Industry, California

Since the early 1900’s Michigan Brush and Dorden have specialized in manufacturing a vast array of styles and types of stock and custom brushes for the automotive, paint, industrial and electronics industries. Bruce Gale, Michigan Brush’s and Dorden’s CEO, explains, “It’s time for me to step aside so that the Company can continue to grow. We felt that Gordon Brush was the best fit to take Michigan Brush and Dorden to the next level, to continue our family tradition of individualized customer service, and to best manufacture our American made line of brushes.”

“Michigan Brush and Dorden will add to our arsenal of amazing companies: Marx Brush, Milwaukee Dustless Brush, JEK, Redtree Industries, Brush Supply, StaticFaction, J. B. Ward, Kirschner Brush, Easy Reach Supply, Spectrum Paint Applicators, Parker Brush and Justman Brush, says Ken Rakusin, president of Gordon Brush. “The Michigan Brush and Dorden acquisitions dramatically enhance our scale, product offerings, and geographic reach – creating new synergies that better position us for future growth and investment in new and existing markets. As the demand for American-made products increases, we are proud to be at the forefront of that movement.”
