Interclean Amsterdam: Cleaning and Hygiene Trends 2020

In the run-up to the 2020 event, Interclean Amsterdam reveals the three trends set to shape the professional cleaning and hygiene industry in years to come.

Following its remarkable success in 2018, Interclean Amsterdam returns to the Dutch capital in 2020 for another edition of the world’s most advanced cleaning and hygiene show. Attracting more than 33,000 attendees from across 143 countries, the 2018 event was a truly international affair. And next year’s show will be no different, bringing the industry together to celebrate the best of cleaning innovation. What has changed, however, is the technology. Two years is a long time in innovation. So, when the exhibition opens its doors to attendees in May 2020, three major trends are likely to set the agenda: Robotics, Data, and Sustainability.

Robots are ready to take over

Robotics isn’t a new segment for Interclean Amsterdam by any means, but the recent advances made by manufacturers have been rapid and breath-taking. It’s an area that businesses really need to stay up-to-date with if they don’t want to fall behind. Where automated cleaning machines were once an exciting but expensive solution, they are swiftly becoming widely used across different environments and industries. Interclean Amsterdam 2020 will be the place to see all the latest machines in action – with the return of the Robot Arena offering attendees a practical, first-hand demonstration of current robotic capabilities.

Data will drive the future of cleaning

Interclean Amsterdam 2016 saw the introduction of the Management & Mobility pavilion, a section of the show dedicated to exhibitors developing software and apps that drive cleaning productivity. In the four years since that show, Management & Mobility has become even more vital to providers.

More companies are uncovering the data that exists within their businesses and understanding how they can make the most of it to drive effective and efficient processes. At Interclean Amsterdam 2020, attendees will be able to see hands-on demonstrations of how innovative new software can supercharge their cleaning operations.

Sustainability will sit at the heart of every segment

With less than 12 years to avert a climate catastrophe, cleaning providers are working hard to adopt sustainable ways of working – from waste management to green cleaning. That’s why the Circular Economy will be a common thread linking many of the innovations on display at Interclean Amsterdam 2020. Returning to the show next year will be the Zero Waste Lab and its Anatomy of the Waste Bin workshop. This will show delegates exactly how to improve their waste management practices for a greener, cleaner future.

The Healthcare Cleaning Forum returns

Also making its return to Interclean Amsterdam 2020 is the Healthcare Cleaning Forum, after its successful introduction in 2018. Taking place on Wednesday 13 May 2020, next year’s edition will continue important conversations around healthcare cleaning and infection prevention – featuring expert speakers like Prof. Didier Pittet, Alexandra Peters and Prof. Pierre Parneix.

Interclean Amsterdam 2020 will take place from May 12-15, 2020, at RAI Amsterdam. Learn more at www.intercleanshow.com
