ABMA/FEIBP Announce New Brush Industry Trade Show for 2024

The American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA) and the European Brushware Federation (FEIBP) are working together to create a joint association-owned and coordinated exhibition trade show for the international brush community. Key leaders in the industry agree that an international show is vital to the integrity and growth of the industry and serves to benefit the entire brush community. The World Brush Expo will be launched in the spring of 2024 — a show for the industry, by the industry. Planning is currently underway with target destinations in Italy under consideration.

The ABMA Educational Institute’s Webinar Series is scheduled to resume next month with Tools for Leaders to Maximize Human Capacity and Impact Retention to be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Overall, the webinar series is designed to provide timely and important industry education to the ABMA membership. The Educational Institute conducted a survey to collect timely and relevant topics and the group continues to develop webinar content to deliver specific and valuable education.

Messe Freiburg: Interbrush To End After 45 Years

Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) has posted a press release indicating the Interbrush trade show at Messe Freiburg will be discontinued. The statement says, “There will be no more Interbrush in Freiburg as early as 2024.”

After the largest exhibitor, Zahoransky AG, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, changed its corporate orientation last year and announced that it would no longer participate in Interbrush, an intensive dialog was initiated with the ABMA and FEIBP associations and other leading exhibitors. FWTM presented various concept ideas for a new content orientation, including possible new locations in German-speaking countries.

2022 ABMA Convention Notes

The ABMA welcomed back in-person attendees to the 105th ABMA Convention last week in Bonita Springs, Fla. The atmosphere of the event could best be described as a combination of enthusiasm and gratitude along with a note of concern. The enthusiasm exuded by attendees was simply around being grateful to be able to once again meet in person and network with old friends and colleagues.

2022 ABMA Convention Schedule

After diverting to a virtual convention for 2021 due to the pandemic, the ABMA is excited to return in 2022 as a live and in-person event for the 105th Edition of the Annual Convention. The destination is Bonita Springs, Fla., and the event runs March 2-5 at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa. The event will follow the traditional format with committee meetings on Wednesday morning and the annual meeting and educational session in the afternoon. Three welcome receptions are on the agenda for the first evening — Emerging Leaders, New Members/First-Time Attendees and the Paul Miller Welcome Reception for all attendees.
Thursday morning features the traditional keynote with motivational speaker Paul J. Long and is followed by an afternoon golf scramble at Raptor Bay Golf Club.

The event wraps up for attendees on Friday, with the Face 2 Face meeting format in the morning where suppliers and industry manufacturers will hold pre-scheduled in-person meetings. The event will conclude with a Friday night closing Suppliers’ Reception that features a disco theme.
