It was a warm welcome in Prague for the 2022 FEIBP Congress, held September 21-24, 2022. After three years, it was finallyy possible to see each other in person and FEIBP President Andrew McIlroy and Fons Ceelaert gave a warm welcome to the guests and participants of the Congress of European Brushware Manufacturers in the Golden City. Friends from the ABMA and new members of the European Brushware Association, among others from Denmark and Sri Lanka, were warmly welcomed.

One of the highlights of the 2022 FEIBP Congress, held September 21-24 in Prague, Czech Republic was the announcement of three winners for the Innovation award. The contest provides a well-deserved showcase for companies that are pushing the envelope and driving the brush industry forward. Here are the three winners for 2022:
The FEIBP has confirmed the 62nd FEIBP Congress originally scheduled for 2022, will be held this fall in Prague, Czech Republic. The event will be held at the Hotel Grandior, September 21-23, 2022. A statement released by FEIBP President Andrew McIlroy and General Manager Fons Ceelaert says, “After three years, with the corona measures and travel restrictions lifted, the European brushware industry is ready for a physical congress, for the first time in the Czech Republic.”
COVID-19 UpdateDuring the evening of January 19, 2021, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the new regulations on the pandemic. Restrictions are on-going, with the lockdown in Germany being extended until February 14, 2021. Experts from science, medicine and research had met in an advisory committee and finally, a result was communicated from the federal government. Chancellor Angela Merkel appeals to companies to let their employees back to the home office more. “It’s tough,” Merkel says, “What we have to expect people to do once again. But we have to take the situation into account. To protect people and also to protect the economy.”

The 61st FEIBP Congress held in Lucerne, Switzerland, wrapped up this past Saturday and our European correspondent Katharina Goldbeck-Hoerz answered a few quick questions on the success of the event. Her full report will be in the next issue of Brushware.
What was your favorite segment from the Congress?
The theme “Together We Are Stronger” weaved like a red thread through the congress. That them tied into worldwide trade, the procurement of raw materials and the manufacturing of products as well as the development of machines. The content of the working groups – as well as the lectures of the main speakers – encouraged the participants of the congress in spontaneously formed working groups to act with the following topics:
