Brush Manufacturers and Suppliers Attend 63rd Annual Victor F Miller Memorial Golf Tournament

The Mill-Rose Company held the 63rd annual Victor F. Miller Memorial Golf Tournament at Shaker Heights Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Brush manufacturers and suppliers from around the world gathered for the annual event honoring The Mill-Rose Company’s past president, Victor F. Miller.

The golf event serves as the culmination of activities the week before where brush company representatives renew alliances, and discuss business trends and opportunities for the brush manufacturing industry. Brushes manufactured by these companies are used in virtually every type of industry around the world. Applications include makeup/mascara brushes, hair brushes, floor sweeping and polishing brushes, gun cleaning brushes, car wash brushes, copier toner brushes, brooms, paint brushes, and special brushes used in the medical field.

The 106th Annual Convention of the ABMA took place last week at the prestigious Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California. The event, which was attended by a total of 183 participants, offered three-plus days of productive meetings, informative sessions and engaging events. The week’s activities culminated with the popular Friday morning Face 2 Face session, which was extended this year to provide attendees ample time to connect and network. The Face 2 Face meeting format again received high praise from both attendees and exhibitors, who appreciate the opportunity to conduct focused meetings without interruption.

World Brush Expo Leaders On New 2024 Event

The American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA), the European Brushware Federation (FEIBP) and Bolognafiere spa are excited to officially announce the launch of the new show for the brush industry: World Brush Expo, which will take place May 22-24, 2024 at Bolognafiere, Bologna, Italy.

Brush Manufacturers Attend Mill-Rose 62nd Annual Golf Tournament

Brush manufacturers and suppliers recently gathered for the 62nd annual Victor F. Miller Golf Tournament held at Mayfield Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio. Representatives from around the country attended the event, hosted by Mentor-based The Mill-Rose Company in honor of the company’s past president, Victor F. Miller.

Skills for the golfers ranged from near-professional to novice, however, a good time was had by all that attended the event.  Prizes were awarded to golfers for outstanding performance in the areas of Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive and Low Gross Scores, and in true fashion, Kevin Lannon of Lanoco Specialty Wire Products retained his title as “Wolf Champion.”

2022 ABMA Innovation Award Nominations Deadline

The American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA) is now accepting nominations for the William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award.

Entries for the award will be accepted until November 30, 2021, and the award presentation will be made at the ABMA Annual Convention in March 2022 at the Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Fla.

ABMA Announces Dave Parr Retirement Plan

ABMA President Greg Miller announced on Tuesday the retirement and recruitment strategy to replace David Parr with a new ABMA Executive Director in 2022. Miller says, “Dave Parr has been ABMA Executive Director since 2002 and had told the ABMA board at that time he would serve for 20 years, retiring in 2022. I can speak for the Board when I say we are sorry to be at the event horizon for this change; and while we are sad to see Dave go after an accomplished tenure with ABMA, we are all working to find an outstanding leader who can continue ABMA on its long and storied trajectory.”
