Pedex GmbH Wins Großer Preis des Mittelstandes Award

In 2021 Pedex GmbH in Affolterbach was nominated for the ‘Großen Preis des Mittelstandes’ a business award for small and medium sized companies.

The ‘Großen Preis des Mittelstandes‘ award has been the single most popular business award in Germany since 1994. The award is focused on evaluating businesses as a whole, not just on numbers, jobs or innovation. Every November, the Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation invites nominations of medium-sized companies for the competition from communities, associations, organizations and companies. The nomination can be for medium-sized companies from the industrial, commercial, service and trade sectors.

COVID-19 Update

During the evening of January 19, 2021, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the new regulations on the pandemic. Restrictions are on-going, with the lockdown in Germany being extended until February 14, 2021. Experts from science, medicine and research had met in an advisory committee and finally, a result was communicated from the federal government.  Chancellor Angela Merkel appeals to companies to let their employees back to the home office more. “It’s tough,” Merkel says, “What we have to expect people to do once again. But we have to take the situation into account. To protect people and also to protect the economy.”

FEIBP Announces New President

The FEIBP held its annual General Assembly as a virtual meeting on October 15, 2020, and Peter Langenegger (Ebnat AG, Switzerland) stepped down as president after serving a three-year term. Andrew McIlroy of Perlon GmbH was welcomed as the new president and is the first president to represent the suppliers’ section of the federation. McIlroy is well-known and much respected for his commitment to the FEIBP and has been a board member for many years. He is the sales and marketing director at Perlon and will serve a two-year term as president.

Perlon®-Group Makes Donation of 2,400 KN 95 Protective Masks

Through its global network, the Perlon®-Group is supporting the procurement measures of the volunteer fire service in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district south of Hesse, Germany, by donating 2,400 KN 95 protective masks. This protective equipment will be put to good use by the volunteer service that covers 23 towns and communities in the area.

Perlon® Production is Still Running At All Sites in Germany, the USA and China

Perlon®, a Serafin Group company, continues to produce its quality filaments at all five sites for customers in the current challenging climate. Production in China has been operating as normal since the beginning of March after having to be temporarily halted due to the spread of COVID-19 in that area. Production is now back up to 100%.

Production in Germany at Perlon® sites in Munderkingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg), Bobingen (Bavaria) and Wald-Michelbach (Hesse) as well the US is continuing to run without any constraints. Therefore all sites are working to full capacity to fulfill all customer orders. In particular, the paper machine clothing area has had an increase in sales which offsets a reduced demand in other areas such as automotive.
