WEBINAR: Introduction to the Untapped Talent Learning Community

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association introduces the Untapped Talent Learning Community – a community supporting manufacturers, industry sector partnerships, and workforce professionals interested in hiring and retention best practices. These communities will offer information, discussions, resources, best practices, and tools aimed at improving recruitment, training, and retention of untapped talent. The webinar will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (CT).

What is untapped talent?

“Untapped talent” refers to individuals who possess valuable skills, abilities, and potential, but who may be overlooked or underrepresented in the traditional recruitment processes for manufacturing jobs in Ohio. This includes demographic groups such as women, justice-impacted individuals, veterans, and people of color. The Good Jobs Challenge aims to identify, train, place, and retain these untapped talent populations into manufacturing roles. During this introductory webinar session, you will meet subject-matter experts relating to four untapped talent populations (veterans, women, people of color, and justice-impacted individuals) as well as learn how to get involved in the learning community. There is no registration charge to attend as the learning community is sponsored by the EDA Good Jobs Challenge grant.
