In support of the latest directives of the Italian Government, Borghi S.p.A. has ordered the temporary suspension of all production activities in its Italian factories from March 23–27. This decision was made in addition to the measures already adopted over the past few weeks to protect health and the safety of its employees against the Corona virus. Since the well-being of the employees is the company’s top priority, Borghi S.p.A. wishes to adhere even closer to the protocol issued by the Italian Government, which provides for the suspension of production activities under the current special circumstances.

Businesses face daunting operational challenges as the rapid spread of COVID-19 causes employees to call in sick and customer counts to dwindle. Managers can reduce workplace disruptions with measures such as revisiting sick leave policies and allowing some employees to work from home. Whatever the details of an organization’s response program, though, it must begin with the maintenance of a virus-free environment.
“An employer’s general duty is to maintain the health and safety of the workplace,” says Joseph Deng, an employment law partner at Baker & McKenzie in Los Angeles (bakermckenzie.com). “A business must be free of hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm. In light of the virus, employers should pay close attention to what the national, state and local authorities are advising.”
The ISSA released the following letter from Executive Director John Barrett:
As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together as an industry, it is my duty to keep you informed about how your association, ISSA, is working to serve you and leveraging our
collective voice for the cleaning industry in these challenging times.
Yesterday, I had the distinct honor to represent ISSA on a White House Communications Call with President Donald Trump, who called upon executives from industrial supply retailers and wholesalers regarding the national response to COVID-19. The President thanked us for providing the goods Americans rely on every day and expressed his gratitude to the incredible employees who are working tirelessly to that end.
In view of the recent developments as a result of the global spread of COVID-19 and, after consulting its exhibition committee, key stakeholders, exhibitors and visitors of the cleaning and hygiene industry, RAI Amsterdam has announced that Interclean Amsterdam will be rescheduled. The new dates will be confirmed by March 20, 2020.
In their statement, RAI Amsterdam noted the rapid spread of the Corona virus has led to increased travel restrictions from authorities. These restrictions, as well as those imposed within companies, would result in materially reduced attendance of the show. To maintain the international reach and quality of the event, it was determined to set a new date for the event.
In response to the rising number of cases of persons infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe and worldwide, Messe Freiburg has decided to postpone Interbrush to May 0f 2022. Interbrush is the leading international trade fair for the brush and broom industry and was originally set to take place from May 6-8, 2020.
From the official announcement:
Messe Freiburg released a statement on Wednesday that indicates a final decision and announcement on Interbrush 2020 will be made on March 18. The statement also says Messe Freiburg is coordinating with exhibitors and industry associations to discuss alternative dates.
