Messe Freiburg: Interbrush To End After 45 Years

Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) has posted a press release indicating the Interbrush trade show at Messe Freiburg will be discontinued. The statement says, “There will be no more Interbrush in Freiburg as early as 2024.”

After the largest exhibitor, Zahoransky AG, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, changed its corporate orientation last year and announced that it would no longer participate in Interbrush, an intensive dialog was initiated with the ABMA and FEIBP associations and other leading exhibitors. FWTM presented various concept ideas for a new content orientation, including possible new locations in German-speaking countries.

FEIBP’s 10 Reasons to Attend the European Brushware Federation Congress

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 62nd FEIBP Congress had to be postponed twice. After three years, with COVID-19 measures and travel restrictions lifted, the European brushware industry is ready again for a physical congress. The return in-person event will be held for the first time, September 21-23, at the Hotel Grandior, Prague, Czech Republic.

Regular participants of the annual FEIBP Congress for European brushware manufacturers appreciate the event as a great opportunity to meet fellow manufacturers, contact suppliers and receive up-to-date information on our industry. There are brushmakers in the Czech Republic, but other countries in Central Europe as well, who will be invited to join us at the congress to get acquainted with the FEIBP and its activities.

FEIBP Launches Redesigned Eurobrush Website

Earlier this week, the FEIBP launched a newly redesigned Eurobrush.com website that features a clean new look and simple UX.

The site retains many of the deep resources that the previous site included. From their post announcing the refresh, the FEIBP says, “Our website is renewed and we do hope that look, feel and content appeal to you and please be invited to use our company tracker to find one of those excellent companies near you.”

62nd FEIBP Congress Confirmed for 2022

The FEIBP has confirmed the 62nd FEIBP Congress originally scheduled for 2022, will be held this fall in Prague, Czech Republic. The event will be held at the Hotel Grandior, September 21-23, 2022. A statement released by FEIBP President Andrew McIlroy and General Manager Fons Ceelaert says, “After three years, with the corona measures and travel restrictions lifted, the European brushware industry is ready for a physical congress, for the first time in the Czech Republic.”

2022 ABMA Convention Notes

The ABMA welcomed back in-person attendees to the 105th ABMA Convention last week in Bonita Springs, Fla. The atmosphere of the event could best be described as a combination of enthusiasm and gratitude along with a note of concern. The enthusiasm exuded by attendees was simply around being grateful to be able to once again meet in person and network with old friends and colleagues.

FEIBP’S 2021 Q4 SURVEY REPORT

The FEIBP released their European Brush Industry Survey Report for the fourth quarter of 2021. The latest report is based on input from 37 completed surveys out of total of 292 invitations.

Industry firms surveyed were asked about performance in both domestic and export markets and technical brushes led the way at home with more than 52 percent reporting five percent or more growth in the segment versus the same quarter in 2020. On the export side, the hygiene brush segment was the strongest as 42 percent reported growth above five percent in the quarter. The weakest product category in both the domestic and export markets was the art brush sector reported at just over 11 percent for growth (domestic and export).
