Webinar on Industry 4.0 for Workforce Development

Everyone is talking about Industry 4.0 (I4.0), smart manufacturing and innovative technology — but a lot of us are still confused about what those terms mean, how they overlap, and what we should do to redevelop our workforces to manage these technologies. To help manufacturers and their workforce partners better understand the trends in I4.0 from a talent perspective, the Ohio Manufacturers Association is offering a 60-minute webinar on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 10:00-11 a.m.

Speaker Mary Ann Pacelli, M.Ed., Division Chief, Learning Systems and Competitions, NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), brings a national perspective and a straightforward approach to training and credentialing the manufacturing workforce to prepare for the next generation of technology.

Pacelli oversees the special competitions award process and the development and implementation of a plan for learning and knowledge sharing across the MEP national network. She Joined NIST MEP as the program manager, Workforce Development, eight years ago. Her work includes advocating for manufacturing workforce priorities with related federal agencies and providing technical support to the network of MEP centers across the country. In addition, she manages special MEP projects, and coordinates the workforce directors of the Manufacturing USA Institute Network, on behalf of the NIST Advanced Manufacturing Program Office.

Previously Pacelli was Assistant Director, Workforce and Talent Development, at MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network), an Ohio MEP center in Cleveland, leading efforts for new business development and delivering training and consulting services to area manufacturers. For more than 30 years, Mary Ann has served numerous manufacturing businesses by assessing their needs and designing and delivering customized programs to improve employee performance.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University, and a Master in Education, Adult Learning and Development, from Cleveland State University.

Participants in this webinar will get an overview of key technologies, certifications, and available resources to prepare their workforces for technologies from automation and robotics to cybersecurity.
