Hillbrush Recognized at Cleaning Awards for Sustainability

Hillbrush’s commitment to sustainability was recognized last week when the company secured “Highly Commended” in the Sustainable Company of the Year category at the prestigious Cleaning Excellence Conference and Awards. Planet Mark certificated since 2019, Hillbrush, the UK’s largest manufacturer of brushes and specialist cleaning tools, has made significant strides to implement and improve its carbon footprint across all areas of its business, from procurement to manufacture and delivery.

Simple changes at Hillbrush’s manufacturing site in Mere, Wiltshire, have given tangible results in both business efficiency and sustainability. Changes include more solar panels, LED lighting, electric charging points, automatic taps to control water consumption and using 80% recycling materials. In addition, Hillbrush is currently working towards ISO 14001 environmental certification and will launch new products that use fewer materials.

Judges at the Cleaning Excellence Awards were also impressed with Hillbrush’s ongoing commitment to improving sustainability, including a pledge to reduce its carbon footprint by five percent year on year, improving its renewable energy supply and operating a robust diversity and equality program.

“Hillbrush is a forward-thinking British manufacturing company that takes its corporate, social and environmental responsibility seriously,” says Jackie Bragado, Executive Projects and Sustainability Manager at Hillbrush. “Product, people and planet are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are pleased that our approach was recognized at the recent Cleaning Excellence Awards.”
