Integrating Refugees into Your Workplace Webinar

Since 2018, more than 500 Ukrainians have resettled in Ohio, many in the Cleveland area. According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, in 2019 Ohio welcomed around 1,500 refugees. With an increase in Ohio’s population of immigrants – many of whom are skilled and eager to work – employers have an opportunity to take advantage of this new source of job candidates. The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association is offering a 60-minute paid webinar on the opportunity to tap this resource to fill positions. Hidden Workers: Uncovering Untapped Talent

The Ohio Manufacturers Association is hosting a Hidden Workers: Uncovering Untapped Talent webinar on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Are you struggling to find talent? Manufacturers may be surprised to learn that there are an estimated 27 million “hidden workers” in the U.S., according to a recent report by Harvard Business School and Accenture.

Hidden workers are those who are unemployed or underemployed and who are eager to get a job or increase their working hours but are consistently overlooked by employers. Hidden workers are diverse, but might include caregivers, people with disabilities, refugees, immigrants, veterans or those previously incarcerated. Participants will learn how to engage potential workers from untapped sources.
