WORKFORCE SERVICES WEBINAR: Breaking Barriers and Building Careers with WorkAdvance

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association Workforce Services Webinar Series is back with a new success story that highlights the effectiveness of the Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) in building careers. The Good Jobs Challenge WorkAdvance program presents “Breaking Barriers and Building Careers: A WorkAdvance Success Story”, a webinar that takes a closer look at how ISP is changing the landscape of employment and training opportunities.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. EST. From pre-apprenticeship to training programs, to landing in a new career path through a registered apprenticeship, Patrece Scott got engaged and achieved success in programs coordinated by, and supported through, a collaboration of MAGNET/Workforce Connect and Manufacturing Works.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the role of the Industry Sector Partnership
  • Overview a success story highlighting what the WorkAdvance model looks like in 3D – learn about the programs involved, employer and participant experience and engagement, and their key findings
  • Hear from an employer on why they supported WorkAdvance buy-in at multiple levels within their company
  • Engage in discussion around the power of partnerships and coaching

The panelists for this webinar are Tom McGraw, Director of Sector Partnership at MAGNET, Beth Dawson, Director of Apprenticeship Program at Manufacturing Works, Patrece Scott, Registered Apprentice at WLS Stamping, and Robert Guy, President of WLS Stamping.

The webinar is recommended for manufacturers interested in developing a pipeline of skilled workers, members of industry sector partnerships, workforce and education professionals, and economic development professionals. There will be a registration fee of $19 for OMA members and non-members.
