Interbrush 2020 Decision: March 18

Messe Freiburg released a statement on Wednesday that indicates a final decision and announcement on Interbrush 2020 will be made on March 18. The statement also says Messe Freiburg is coordinating with exhibitors and industry associations to discuss alternative dates.

ABMA 2020 Update: Interbrush Decision in 10 Days

The 2020 ABMA Convention concluded last night with a game-filled reception that moved indoor due to unseasonably cool weather in St. Petersburg, Fla. The reception featured dartboards, shuffleboard, virtual reality head sets, giant beer pong, beer tasting and a caricature artist.

While the reception provided a great way to celebrate the end of a busy week, discussions still centered around the Coronavirus and the impact on Interbrush 2020. During the Thursday morning session, Daniel Strowitzki of Messe Freiburg announced that a decision on whether or not to postpone would be made in 10 days. That means all Interbrush attendees and exhibitors should expect a final announcement by March 15, 2020.

Interbrush 2020: Coronavirus Update

Messe Freiburg has released the following information on coronavirus preparedness for Interbrush 2020:

At Messe Freiburg, the health and well-being of our visitors and exhibitors is our top priority. We have been monitoring the global situation daily and are closely following the advice of the responsible health authorities with regard to the coronavirus. Currently, they do not see any reason to place restrictions on exhibitions in Germany. Therefore, we would like to let you know that Interbrush 2020 will take place as planned from May 6-8, 2020 at Messe Freiburg.

Todtnau’s 250-Year Black Forest Legacy

In the Black Forest of Germany 250 years ago, Todtnau was the cradle of brushes and brooms, which were made with beech wood and pig bristles. Brushes were already known in antiquity as findings in Egypt and Greece proved that brushes were used for cleaning, clothes and hair care. North of the Alps, discoveries from Roman military camps also show that brushes were used to care for soldiers and horses. Already around the year 1400 brush making was known to exist in Germany in Nuremberg.

Looking Ahead to Interbrush 2020: May 6-8, 2020

May 2020 marks the 13th edition of Interbrush, the most important trade fair and the key global meeting point for the brush and broom industry. Interbrush 2020 will open its doors in Freiburg, Germany with approximately 200 exhibitors from 26 countries presenting across some 21,500 m2 of exhibition area while showcasing raw materials, semi-finished products and machines. At least 7,500 trade visitors from 90 countries are expected to visit the event, which is held every four years and brings in 10,000 additional overnight stays to Freiburg’s hotels.

Anyone already planning to visit the trade fair who would like to order reduced-price entry tickets online can do so easily and securely online. “Print at home” tickets will be exchanged directly for visitor badges at the entrance to the trade fair.
