ABMA 2021 Virtual Meeting Highlights

The ABMA 2021 Convention main session was held virtually yesterday afternoon and we’ll provide full coverage from the event in the next issue, but here are the early highlights:

  • Wooster Brush claimed the 2021 William A. Cordes Innovation Award for their shortcut hook and hold angle sash paintbrush. (More information on all nominees).
  • Attendance hovered around 73 for the meeting that lasted just over one hour.

    New FEIBP President Andrew McIlroy (Perlon) indicated that due to continuing restrictions in Europe, the 2021 FEIBP Congress set for Prague, Czech Republic, in September, is likely to be postponed to 2022. This follows having the event already delayed from September of 2020.

  • Scott Enchelmaier’s term as president has ended and Greg Miller from The Mill-Rose Company takes over as the ABMA’s new president with Chris Monahan of Brush Fibers serving as vice president. R.J. Lindstrom of Zephyr Manufacturing will serve as treasurer. New directors include Charlie Coward (Hillbrush), Mark Eichelberger (Sherwin Williams), Tim Hack (Epic Resins), Christy Hinnant (Easy Reach Supply), Mark Kappes (Tanis Inc.), Brian Keiser (Osborn), Todd Leventhal (Nextep Commercial Products), Dustin Maninfior (American Select Tubing, AST Filaments), Bruce Massey (Interwire Products) and Chip Preston (Spiral Brushes).
  • The 105th Annual Convention is set for March 2-5, 2022 at the Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida.
