Workforce Learning Webinar for Ohio Educators through Industry Partnerships

Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) is hosting a webinar on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. to discuss providing workforce learning for Ohio educators through industry partnerships. The OSLN is dedicated to inspiring and training the next generation of innovative leaders in Ohio. It connects innovative schools, teachers, and administrators to each other and to national resources, supports schools and communities that want to create innovative schools and programs, builds community awareness and drives school and industry partnerships. The network operates as a public-private partnership between the Ohio Department of Education and Battelle.

The STEMx National Network, managed by Battelle, advocates for STEM as a national priority. The OSLN, STEMx, and Ohio’s industry sector partnerships have a common goal of meeting the workforce needs of today’s employers and preparing students for the future. The STEM-oriented organizations provide various teacher professional learning programs to help K-12 educators better understand and communicate the requirements of the modern workforce.

Manufacturers interested in developing a pipeline of skilled workers, members of industry sector partnerships, workforce and education professionals, and economic development professionals are all encouraged to attend the webinar. The registration fee for an unlimited number of participants at one phone/computer location is $19.

The webinar will feature Sandy Guinto, STEM Relationship Manager at Ohio STEM Learning Network, and Heather Sherman, Director of the STEMx National Network. Guinto leads several teacher professional development programs for the OSLN that focus on bringing manufacturing and community partnerships into the classroom so students can learn about job opportunities in their local area. Sherman leads the national STEMx NetworkTM, managed by Battelle, which seeks to lift the collective voice of STEM leaders across the country to advocate for STEM as a national priority while creating a professional learning community to close the nation’s gaps in access, talent, and skills.

Join OSLN on March 23, 2023, to learn about STEM workforce training programs for teachers and how your organization can benefit from this work.
