2020 Top 10 Most Read Brushware Articles

As we wind down the year that was 2020 and look forward to celebrating the holidays, I want to thank all of the Brushware readers, advertisers and supporters and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It was such a challenging and heartbreaking year for so many, we hope that the holidays and the year ahead will be much brighter for everyone.

But as a final look back to 2020, we present for the second year in a row the top-performing stories on for the year.


01. Bringing People Back for Work by Phillip Perry

And after weeks of telephone conferencing and video chatting, many workers are doubtless eager to return to their offices. In June, we posted Phillip Perry’s in-depth guide to managing this reverse migration to get people back to work.

02. Brushware Summer Buyers’ Guide Digital Edition Announcement

Considered “The Bible” of the brush industry this special issue includes a complete supplier and manufacturer directory with an extensive category index that allows users to quickly locate company capabilities. In addition, veteran writer Bob Lawrence takes an in-depth look at 3D printing in the industry. Readers will also find year-to-date US Import/Export stats along with a May PMI report with charts tracking data for several regions and countries.

06. New Interbrush Dates Set for 2022

Messe Freiburg made the decision in mid-March to postpone Interbrush and in July announced the official dates of May 4-6, 2022.

07. June PMI Numbers Move into Growth Territory

The June PMI reports highlighted the first month of recovery for manufacturing in the US and Europe.

08. Womatec: Wood Products Are on the Rise Again

With the automatic copying shaper “ROTARY,” German machine builder WOMAtec has implemented the CNC-controlled manufacturing process for the first time and the result is optimization for both quality and efficiency.

09. Osborn Parent Company Announces Reorganization

Osborn parent company Jason Industries announced in August that the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has confirmed the Company’s Plan of Reorganization (the “Plan”), clearing the way for Jason to successfully complete its Chapter 11 financial restructuring and emerge in the coming days.

10. FEIBP July Update on European Brushware Industry

The FEIBP released a report on the impact of COVID-19 on the European brushware industry that said the situation remained “vulnerable” on the continent with increasing movement of people and transport as governments lift measures.
